TMC –
The Mate Company, a Temecula, CA based company with over 20 years as a
manufacturer and distributor of data storage cables, such as SCSI, SAS,
MiniSAS, Fiber Optic, Fibre Channel cables, is seeking an experienced
sales/account manager with a positive, can-do attitude to sell specialty
computer cables and electronic cable assemblies to manufacturers and resellers
in the Southern California and Northern California regions.
PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
To sell and promote TMC products within an assigned territory through
manufacturers (OEM customers) and/or distributors. To broaden company's
customer base and increase penetration with existing accounts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities will consist of cold-calling and developing new customer
base, as well as servicing existing customer accounts. Approximately 70-80%
of the time would be spent inside the Temecula office calling on prospects
and customers, and 20-30% of the time would be spent visiting and meeting
prospects and existing customers at their business locations. This is
an ideal position for someone desiring to work in an independent environment
and grow in income and experience.
- Sell, manage
and continue to grow customer accounts in the designated sales region.
- Calls (daily)
to maintain relationships with existing accounts and to increase penetration.
- Calls (daily)
on potential customers to broaden customer base.
- Develops
and implement a sales plan for an assigned territory.
- Understand
and maintain current knowledge of all TMC products and capabilities
(custom cable assembly and stock cables).
- Assists
customers by supplying information related to samples, delivery dates,
part drawings and specifications, quality issues, RMA issues, etc.
- Travel
to customers, when necessary, to develop new custom cable and assembly
opportunities. This includes attending pertinent trade shows.
- Keep informed
of new products and other general information of interest to customers.
- Work closely
with Senior Management through daily communication; provide weekly/monthly
Activity Report for all activities in the sales region and ensure format
and updates are correct.
- Ensure
all systems, procedures and policies are followed properly (sales order
entry, order acknowledgements, quality complaints, stocking, cancellations,
re-schedules, quoting, pricing, etc.).
- Perform
other related duties as assigned by management.
- Work to
meet or exceed established sales quota.

MINIMUM JOB
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum
2 years of inside/outside sales experience in computer electronic and/or
cable & wire industry.
- Ability
to communicate effectively in both written and verbal mediums.
- Strong
interpersonal and persuasive skills in person and on the phone.
- Positive,
independent, sales-oriented personality.
- Strong
attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised are a must.
- Sales skills
to successfully negotiate and close a sales call.
- Must have
the working knowledge of Microsoft based programs including Word, Excel
and Outlook as well as the Internet.
- Must have
own vehicle for meeting purposes (car allowance provided).
WE OFFER:
High Earnings Potential: Paid salary plus
sliding scale commission. There is a potential earning of over $5,000 per
month within your first six months. Our top sales representative made over
$100,000 -- in their first year.
